After 10 years at Vogue Paris, Carine Roitfeld is leaving.
Say it ain't so....
I will wait patiently to see what she does next. The next question would have to be...who will be taking her place??

New York

New York as seen through a disposable camera.
Yes, I have a fancy digital camera which takes fine photos. But I miss the tangible product that one once received after taking photos. And so, before I left for New York back in October, I purchased two disposable cameras. My vision was that these photos would come out having a vintage and/or grainy quality.
So throughout my trip to New York I haphazardly took photos. I love to snap pictures, but I also feel slightly embarrassed when in action, so all my pictures are normally rushed and definitely not planned.
These are my favorite results. I have to say they came out just as I had hoped.

Click on the photo to view it in full size, you can see the Hell Gate Bridge amongst the trees and apartment buildings.
The Hell Gate Bridge is definitely my favorite New York landmark.

Rachel and I went to Le Bain, the rooftop club at The Standard hotel.
This was the stairwell which led you from the bar to the roof.

Now I've been taking pictures throughout Florida with my second disposable camera. I've learned a from a bunch of mistakes that I made with this first camera, so I've been paying more attention and hopefully I'll have even more photos which I think are worthy of posting.

I want to be just like Carine Roitfeld and Anna Dello Russo.

Here they are outside of Rodarte (by the way, what an amazing show)

New York Fashion Week

New York fashion week has begun and it's been sucking up every ounce of my attention whenever I have a moment to spare. So far I've been quite impressed. Highlights include Rachel Comey, Peter Som, Jason Wu, Doo.Ri, Rag and Bone and Ohne Titel.
I woke up this morning and saw that the Alexander Wang show was posted on style.com! What a wonderful treat in the morning. I loved some of the separates presented, but as a girl from New York I actually am disappointed to see absolutely no black...
I still have a lot of shows to catch up on today. But I love the tailored looks, the simple white/black/tan color palette that a lot of lines are showing, especially Doo.Ri. But then there are also amazing pops of color from Peter Som and Jason Wu and Ohne Titel.

Aside from Fashion Week, I've made a few new purchases for fall.
1. Current/Elliott Cargos. The fit is amazing on them, I can't wait to pair them with

2. These boots from Urban Outfitters. They still haven't been shipped and I'm getting impatient!

3. And last, but of course not least; I was something of a daze last night and purchased Chanel Le Vernis in Khaki Vert. I had completely forgotten about doing that and I woke up this morning to an e-mail confirming my order. I felt like it was Christmas morning or something.

So I suppose I'm going for a military look this fall, whether I meant for it or not...
If only it would get a little colder in Florida...

What is vintage?

Mother cleaned out her closet (with help from me), which lead to me gaining some new articles of clothing. It's always exciting to get things for free. Here are two shirts I acquired; one is a leopard print. A bit outrageous for me but I feel like it works quite well as long as the rest is kept simple. The other is a 'patchwork' button down. It's big on me, but I think it has a lot of personality.
You can click the pictures to see them larger if you wish (that goes for all posts).

I need to get a tripod...

Natasha Poly by Terry Richardson

I'm sure that my discovery of Terry Richardson's photo diary (Click here to view it) is not surprising to most people, but I found it about 2 months ago and I love it. His photos are simple yet intriguing. And this photo of Natasha Poly takes the cake. She's absolutely perfect.

Sasha 2007

Title: I'm just drawn like that
Magazine: Numéro No. 86 September 2007
Model: Sasha Pivovarova
Photographer: Camilla Åkrans
Source: noirfacade

Wow. Sasha Pivovarova looks absolutely stunning in these photos. Recently whenever I see a photograph of her outside of events/shows/parties she looks too skinny with large black circles under her eyes, far from beautiful in my opinion. These photos remind me of what a phenomenal model she is (was). She looks elegant, sexy- breath taking. I wish I could look at this 3 year old issue of Numèro No. 86 in person. I find that fashion photographs are better experienced in a tangible state, rather than on a computer screen. Click on the source to look at them in a much larger resolution, there are also more photographs in the set. Enjoy...

Remember Now

Remember Now; A Film by Karl Lagerfeld which contains so many beautiful people and beautiful clothing I'm shocked it didn't implode by the end. But it was certainly enjoyable all the same.
I want to go to Saint-Tropez...

Classy

Yesterday I purchased "Classy" by Derek Blasberg (the fabulous fashion writer from Vogue, V magazine, Style.com etc.) I've read a decent amount thus far and I must say it's humorous, witty and informative. Everything I was looking for! A definite must read for any classy lady.

Emmanuelle Alt

Emmanuelle Alt is the Fashion Director at Vogue Paris. Her uniform of jeans, fantastic shoes and a jacket/blazer is simple yet chic. She always looks effortless and cool. I definitely identify with her sense of style.
